I am tryin g to locate a baptism for a Peter Matthias born in 1827 in Brymbo. I have checked on ancestry u.k. but he does not appear anywhere. would anyone have parish records for Brymbo covering that year. I would be truely grateful if someone would be kind enough to do a look up for me please.
regards, June.

If the family were not Non Conformist, then he will probably be in St Giles Wrexham registers.

Of course, his marriage certificate  should give his fathers name and occupation,  there are similer details on your other post.

Hi .
There's a Peter Matthias on the 1871 census says he was born 1824, and again 1881 census says he was born 1827.

Thank you Sasi I did know about the census entries, I am tryin g to find an entry of his birth/baptism I am researching for  a  friend who shares the same surname and area of our ancesters. I live in England so miles away from Wrexham, was just wondering if anyone was attending the wrexham  register offuice at anytime if they could possibly do a look up on this Peter Matthias, I have searched the ancestry site for welsh parish records like the u.k. christening records and found nothing.also I have parish records books for wrexham which \I purchased many years ago now but unfortunatly only got up to book 16 /1813 in the baptisms. was wondering too if anyone on rootschat has the number 17 book as it covers the years that I need. apart from that I dont know where else to look for this guy.
regards, JUNE.

365 Wrexham Vol 15 Baptisms 1813-1820
399 Wrexham Vol. 16 Baptisms 1820-1825
366 Wrexham Vol 17 Baptisms 1826-1835

I don`t know if you are aware of this site, but it a very good source .  If you look at Mathias , and check the `key`  codes, it does look as if Peter isn`t there. The family could have been non conformist,  but Peter did marry in Church.   There may be some clues on the marriage certificate.
