I have  picture of the Philipson /Dent houses in East Blackdean and am trying to find out who lived in which house circa 1860

Welcome to rootschat :)

If you worked your way through the local 1861 census [and 1851] it would perhaps give you your answer.
Someone else may bob up with a better idea.

Oh dear ::)

Do you think the people owned the house or rented it?  If they owned it then getting a copy of the deeds should show who owned what in 1860.

Just casting round for ideas
