Hi Jan,

Thanks for your reply.  Are you able to get copies of any images for father, mother birth, marriage or death?

Harder than expected, actually!

I have an Andreas b Tanum 1/6-1819 with his family in a Tanum household record 1818-1820 here.

It's quite legible, do you recognise any?

Where does the Warn name come from?

J

Hi Jan,

Thanks for all your kind help.  Are you able to find out what happened any of the other children.  Sorry I don't know where the Warn name came from.  I would love to find some photos of them you are doing better with the records in Sweden than Northern Ireland as they were pulped to make new paper during the war.

Thanks for all your help

Kieran

Pulped? Oh dear...!

It is unfortunately quite time consuming to work out more, but you may have noticed that one of Christian Emanuels godparents were "torparen Johs Anderson from Skee" - could very well be the same as "uncle Johannes", born boxing day 1813...

A couple of more options to investigate,

Funny,

When Googling a bit on details found in this topic, I get Excel-sheets with transcribed records!

If you send me a PM with an e-mail I can send them to you,

Christian Emanuel's grandad Anders Andersson's death 14/6-1819 is one of the finds...

Finding Anna Catharina's birth proved harder than expected!

A candidate is here, but I am a bit worried about that father's name appears to be Cornelius Ohlson...
(Needs some more verifications to be 100% sure,

Hi Kieran

I don't know how much you know by now but I took a wee look into the Wärns. The name Warn as you might say was actually "Wärn" pronounced      V "air" n.   It was used by soldiers as a soldier name. I did try to trace where the Wärn name came from but with no luck. Anders got married in Skee in 1857 with no connection to the name Wärn but turned up in Strömstad with Wärn attached.

I have traced the whole family back to 1819 on Anders side and forward to 1895 or so. Kristian had a sister but died very young.

I can say that Kristian Emanuel Wärn and Olaus were sailors. I do know that Olaus ended up in Australia and got married there (according to the books  here in Sweden anyway.) Kristian according to the books disappeared around 1893. I suppose he jumped ship somewhere.

If you are interested in more information just ask.
