Trying to find the parents of Robert Berridge b 1764 (probably in Glapthorn). Married Mary Baker in 1792. Can anyone help please?

Thanks.

Carr: Yorkshire - South Elmsall, Hemsworth, Goole
Watson: Lincolnshire/Notts - Newark, Barkston, Dunham
Dean: Lincolnshire/Notts - Holme, New Boultham, Eagle, Reepham, Newark

Hello and a very warm welcome to Rootschat  :).  Have you looked at Free Reg ?
http://www.freereg.org.uk/cgi/Search.pl

I can see the baptisms for the children for Robert & Mary in Glapthorn, there is also a baptism for a Robert Berridge in 1764 in Fotheringhay ( sorry not sure where that is in relation to Glapthorn without getting a map out so may not be of any use to you) but what interested me was that this Robert was to parents William & Mary and it would appear that Robert named his first son William in October 1792, so maybe a link ?

Anyway, have a look at the site and see what you think

Kind Regards

Angie

Angie,

Thanks so much for the help and advice here and for the link.

Fotheringhay is the next village to Glapthorn so a very likely possibility and it looks like I can trace my tree back another generation now  :)

Much appreciated.

Keith

Hi,
I know you posted a long time ago but I wondering if you got anywhere with this?? I have Robert Berridge who married Mary Baker and died 5th December 1829 aged either 65 or 68 (5/8) difficult to make out on gravestone. This would fit well a Robert Berridge born to William Berridge and Mary Wyatt in Fotheringhay in 1764 (would make him 65 at death). Fotheringhay next to Glapthorn - all good....until I found the death of a Robert Berridge, son of William and Mary Berridge from Fotheringhay in November 1764.
