Hi

On your dads birth and marriage certificate, what occupation is given for his father and where were they living, also who were the witnesses on the your dads marriage certificate.

Hi Marg

My dad does not seem to have any of these...he is quite unwell and cannot be bothered with the info really....sad.but true...

I have tried but get a "dont know"

I know my dad was married in Singapore and his parents were around- though I am not sure about my grandfather...he came back from being a POW very unwell and was quarantined with TB.

Morning everyone

A shame that no birth year was written in the birthday book  ???

Have had a look on FreeBMD nothing jumping out, also checked familysearch

I’ve given you Donald's social security number from familysearch this can be ordered on Anc (com) but can’t be sure it will give you the details you want ie parents names

I wonder if trying to obtain Donald’s US birth certificate will help

Only certain people can request a birth certificate. You must be…. See link

http://www.portal.state.pa.us/portal/server.pt/community/birth_certificates/14121

On December 15, 2011, Governor Tom Corbett approved Senate Bill 361.

Effective February 13, 2012, you may now access Pennsylvania birth and death indices to search for birth records from 1906 and death records from 1906 through 1961. The original birth and death records for these years are located at the Pennsylvania State Archives.

Edward George/George Edward was born 1902 and brother Donald born 1920 US (18 years later)
Is it possible that one of their parents remarried? I wonder when their parents travelled to US?

Can I establish whether it’s Edward George or George Edward Taylor born 1902 as you use both

Perhaps obtaining the marriage certificate of your father may hold some clues, witnesses could be family members, occupation & residence would be listed.

Can’t post details of 1911c and this is probably just a coincidence anyway
brother with the middle name ALLEN
similar sounding names seem to crop up with your Taylor family
Sylvia Louisa Alene Taylor & Alleyne Junius Dauphus Taylor

Having checked out their birth entries (FreeBMD) not sure this family is related to your Edward George Taylor as he was born 7 Dec 1902  this Edward George birth registered Mar 1903 ???

Edward George Taylor Mar 1903 Mansfield vol 7b page 112
Harry ALLEN Taylor Dec 1905 Mansfield vol 7b page 122

Here's the family on 1901/1891 anyway just for you to look at and eliminate

RG13; Piece: 3138; Folio: 82; Page: 23
52 New Street Sutton in Ashfield Nottingham
Edward Taylor 34 Licenced Victualler
Charlotte 36
Fred 15
Annie 9
Samuel 6
All born Derby

RG12; Piece: 2738; Folio: 20; Page: 34;
Edward Taylor 25 Brass Chaser
Charlotte 27
Frederick C 3
Annie E 3 months
All born Derby

mmm....just checked marriages on FreeBMD this seems to account for Harry's middle name ALLEN Edward TAYLOR married 1885 Derby Charlotte ALLEN

I don't have them in front of me but think I found them in 1920 as David Edwin and Jessie Gertrude, with a young son Thomas (again in Freeport).
