Yes I think that's them too- son Thomas Dixon Taylor is 3.

I'm not sure that Donald CAN be Edward George's brother?

The 1940 census is due to be released in April-maybe that will help here?

Agreed - Donald's parents are just too young.

I wondered whether the link might be a generation up - Edward George an uncle, rather than a brother, of Donald? However, Donald's father David Edwin Taylor is with his 54-yr-old widowed mother in 1910 and there is no sign of a 1902-born "late lamb" in the family.

Cousins, perhaps?  ???

Hi both,

Carol - that's ok I only had some of the details from familysearch  :)

have to agree with you both that I don't think they can be Edward's parents from a previous post more info. mentions Don survived by his sister http://sg.movies.yahoo.com/Don+Taylor/biography/10593/ I thought perhaps the US 1930c may have been Donald with his sister

I know my dad was married in Singapore and his parents were around- though I am not sure about my grandfather...he came back from being a POW very unwell and was quarantined with TB.

Unfortunately Whiskerssue only knows date & death of Edward if only his marriage to Connie Jane Batchelor could be found that would solve a lot, also found list of names from a birthday book belonging to her grandmother Connie

trying to find information on my grandfather Edward George Taylor. He was born 7th December 1902 - but where we do not know- died12 October 1968 in Singapore. He is buried there. I have had no luck tracing via Singapore

He married Connie Jane Batchelor. We know he was sent as a POW to the Thailand Death Railway to work during WW2. He has a brother actor /film producer Donald F J Taylor born 1920 on December 13/14 died 29 Dec 1998

I have tried looking for the names mentioned by whiskerssue in the birthday book but have had no success  ???

I have heard my dad speak of Uncle Don in the US making making movies etc. My grandad died when I was only 3 .

I have some other names listed in an old birthday book...( belonged to Grandma Connie Jane )

Iris Taylor Apr 16 ( year unknown ) I think its his sister

Jane Helen Taylor
June 13 ( year unknown) ? relationship

Clarence Taylor Sept 11 ( year unknown ) ? relationship - suspect a brother

D V Taylor Jan 5 ( year unknown ) ? relationship

Sylvia Louisa Alene Taylor Jan 7 ( year unknown) ** this name is so beautifully written it makes me wonder who she was....

Joseph Lawerence Taylor  June 24 1849

I think Donald filled in his birthday in the book himself...its very stylized handwriting....but it looks like an " F" BUT it was filled in on the Dec 14th slot....

.

I wonder if you might get some help with Singapore connections from here

Alleyne is mentioned on your other thread as the eldest son, but was he the eldest child of the family?

The death notice for Connie Jane Taylor in the Straits Times of 21 December 1972 describes her at the beloved mother of G______, Alleyne and G_______. [I have anonymised in case they are living].

The first of the G______ names (a very rare female name) corresponds to an engagement announcement in the Straits Times of 30 Oct 1947.  The bride-to-be is Miss G_______ Taylor, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs E.G. Taylor of Singapore.

Obviously to be getting engaged/married in 1947 she'd have had to be quite a bit older than Alleyne.

Is the G lady the one that now lives in Wales....with a surname that doesn't exist(from an earlier post)  ;)

Ah yes - I missed that.  The G name is an unusual variant of that one and the R name is the married name but not spelt quite as in earlier post!

Hi there Avm  ;)

Can you let me have the correct spelling of G's married name. I have a copy of the 2002 infodisk,I'll see if I can find her here.

Where are you finding this Singapore stuff- it's not on Ancestry or FindMyPast is it?

Great detective work AVM228  :)

Do you think there's a possibility that Edward George Taylor & Connie Jane Batchelor's engagement or marriage may also be mentioned in Straits Times
