Rowland Morgan in Llanaber
« on: Wednesday 22 February 12 22:16 GMT (UK) »
Today at the Salt Lake genealogy library, I found my ancestor Rowland Morgan married first to Elizabeth Richard in 1750 and again to my direct ancestor Margaret/Mary David in 1754 both in Llanaber.

I tried looking for both in the Llanaber baptism records cir 1730 with no luck and went back another ten years still with no luck.

I have tried looking on ancestry.com and familysearch.org with no luck. Any suggestions on where to look next? On the marriage record for Rowland and Elizabeth, it shows Rowland Morgan of C-----ou? the hand writing is difficult to read and I have gone so far as to try and locate the town without much luck.

Wilcoxon,

Yes. So far, all of my maternal grandmother's side comes from Llanaber, Merioneth, Wales.

Thanks for the link.

I found this phrase , could the place you are looking for be Cutiau ?

http://wbo.llgc.org.uk/en/s-EVAN-BEN-1740.html

"register a house for the purpose of worship at Cutiau in the parish of Llanaber ( Barmouth ). "

There`s a chance Rowland may have been non conformist,

I do believe you may have found it Wilcoxon. Thank you! Knowing that other family members from the same line in the late 1880's were living there makes me think Rowland Morgan was living there at the time of his first marriage to Elizabeth Richard.
