Hi Miggs, to answer your question about Hegartys and Lahardane at the moment, we're not allowed post details of living people but you can take a look here for the current valuation list: http://www.valoff.ie/search/search.asp.
The Bluid (mentioned by Skibbgirl) and Lahardane Hegartys are the same people I think.

I neglected to answer your questions in an earlier post about the Southern Star and Skibbereen Heritage Centre. I have taken out a couple of the day-long subscriptions to the Star but must take another look. I was searching for a few areas and it's a good complaint but there was so much info there I couldn't get through it all. I haven't used the Heritage Centre at all but hear good things about them.

Surely somebody here, linked off directly or indirectly, would know.  So many counties in the US have their local historical societies !

Dear Lodge County links:

Skibgirl,
Thank you yet again! for the links.
Seems that Deer Lodge is smaller than 10,000 people and although there are lots of web links there is nothing at the end. They are all appealing for volunteers to help!
Good they are trying to help but not much help to me in the UK!
Family info has it that my great aunts may have gone to Dakota and I think Deer lodge is north of there.
Anyone out there who can suggest how to find info about settlers from  Laharadane,Castlehaven, Skibbereen,County Cork around or just before the turn of the century? Will keep going...there may be light at the end of the tunnel!
Possibly there are decendents too? :)

Think I am getting somewhere. The Anaconda marriage links 'pair up' with references on Ellis Island giving correct parents names for Skib.! Now need to confirm Anaconda link with access to marriage or naturalisation papers.
Thank you all for giving help over the last few weeks.    :)

just happened to see this in passing as I read Southern Star for Sat. March4, 1916. Death of Mrs. Nora Weidenfeller at her residence, Deer Lodge, Montana, on 14 jan, heard by her relatives in Skibbereen.  She was the daughter of Denis Hegarty, Bluid. She emigrated to USA 10 years ago and has been married for the past 5 years. She leaves 2 young children.

Hope it might be useful

Thank you spalpeen,
Adds to the possible information about missing great aunts.
I have used Southern Star by paying for a link and found lots of information about Bohane side of the family but stupidly never thought to look for the Hegartys!
Thanks again.
