looking for links on the Carroll and Flynn families from the Ferbane area. James Carroll and Catherine Flynn emigrated to Australia in 1856 with their 8 children William, Mary, Ann, James, Esther, Michael,  Bernard and John

A guy named John Carroll, grocer, Cloghan is listed in an 1846 Directory of Ferbane. http://tinyurl.com/669nyj

 :) Thank you so much for you contact and the very interesting link. I have not been able to find out much about the Carroll prior to their emigration. It was interesting about the John Carroll being a grocer as my great great grand father Bernard Carroll was Grocer in Sydney Australia. He was about 17 when they left Ireland for Australia.

If you have not had any more luck with tracking down the Carrolls in Ferbane,there are lots of them in parish of Lemongham & the parish of Tubber which both are near Ferban,on my family lists they are popping up all the time as sponsors.Patrick Carroll 1828-Mary Carroll 1840- Anne Carroll 1843- Julia Carroll 1899. All from these two parishes. Regards Nipy
