Any other dates or clues?

That's a date range of nearly 140 years?! ;D

Found this Elisha? The family obviously emigrated in the 1870's?

From the 1871 census:
Reference RG10, Piece 2258, Folio 8, Page 13
Golant, St Sampson, St Austell, Cornwall

Hocking, Elisha  Head  M  39  Ag Lab  b St Austell
Hocking, Ann  Wife  F  42  b Golant, St Sampson
Hocking, Herbert  Son  M  14  Shop Assistant  b St Blazey
Hocking, Earnest  Son  M  1  b Golant St Sampson

This Elisha can be found in 1851, and 1841 in Illogan Union Workhouse (Redruth)?

I had a look at cornwall-opc-database.org, but couldn't find a baptism for Elisha (but maybe he was baptised much later?)

The marriage for Elisha and Ann is there, though.

If you think that the man I have found is your Elisha, and need help with the other censuses, just shout up!
