And here's a natty folding silver Edwardian version (she says, trying to ignore Seoras!)

Until now I thought all 'button hooks' were proper hooks.  Isn't education wonderful

I think the smaller one's a button hook.

Hello Folks

Have collected button-hooks for many years. They range from the very small to the very large which I believe were used for buttoning mens riding boots. We display them hanging individually in a very large picture frame and they are quite a talking point with visitors.

In latter years button-hooks  have become rather expensive to buy - especially the silver ones.....

Hello Seoras - have you checked  to see whether she has a Birmingham hall-mark  ??? ::) ::)

Hello danuslave - well, all ours are hooky ones  - the loopy ones not something we knew about even after all these years of collecting.......  very interesting.
