sorry it took me a few days to get back to you. Life took over :)

I looked at the censuses to get a bit of background on your Joseph Haines but unfortunately i couldn't find any service or pension records for Joseph Haines (and variant spellings) to match your man.  It really is just luck on which records survived.

hello have you looked at the cwgc site, commonwealth war graves commission, just enter details and maybe your relation may show, it offers interesting info

CWGC site will only list those who were killed.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
