Lloyd of Cardiff

Hello, this is my first Post here. I hope that I can others as well as seek help.

My Family of Lloyd's live in Western Australia after arriving here in about 1830. A great story in itself as they were originally headed to Tasmania.

James Lloyd with his wife Hannah Morris are spoken about in the book "The Taylors of Kew" which provides much insight into there migration to Western Australia and the families ties with the Taylor Family.

The couple married in London in 1829 at Christ Church in Newgate.

From what I know James was born in 1798 and Hannah 1808. James parents being James and Margaret Lloyd. Hannah's parents being Joseph and Elizabeth Morris. I know that James Jr had a brother George and Hannah had brothers William and Joseph all of whom travelled to Western Australia with them. I have much of the history of James, Hannah and their children thereafter. Alas, not much of their ancestors other than that small detail in the book mentioned above.

The book states that the Lloyd Family were from Cardiff where they were prosperous and owned and operated some of the Docks.

If anyone has detail of this Branch of my Ancestors Tree and know of any direct Ancestors of James Lloyd that would be appreciated.

The name that is associated with Cardiff Docks is the Marquess of Bute:

However, the Port of Cardiff is obviously much older.
