What a mixed up family!!
« on: Tuesday 28 February 12 18:31 GMT (UK) »
My 2 x great grandfather Edward Fear married Elizabeth Jane (aka Bessie Tamar) nee Bray married 30 Mar 1888 at Baptist Church, Axbridge. I believe there was 5 or more children born, Ernest, Francis, Albert, Elsie & May. Edward then had another 5 children by a lady called Elsie. I cant find Bessie's death. 1 of the 2nd family was Winifred Elsie b 22. 3. 1896, 41 George St, Weston-super-mare. I would love to know which children are from which mother? I believe  Bessie wasnt dead when the second family were being born, & did Edward marry Elsie, and who was she? Also could anyone tell me who all the children eventually married. All I have is Ernest married Florence surname unknown, Albert married Lydia surname unknown. Regards Trish

You need to give more info

Is Edward with Elsie in 1901 and is he shown as married?

Are the children by Bessie also with him in 1901?

Have you checked freebmd for the possible second marriage?

I believe  Bessie wasnt dead when the second family were being born

So have you looked for her on the 1901 census?

Have you searched freebmd deaths just under Fear - no christian name?

Were Edward & Elsie still together in 1911?  Do they say how many years they have been married?

1 of the 2nd family was Winifred Elsie b 22. 3. 1896, 41 George St, Weston-super-mare.

How did you arrive at that conclusion?

I always believed Winifred was from the 2nd family. I am not sure if Edward did marry Elsie. He certainly had the other children though! Can anyone help with the children from the 2nd family? Regards Trish.

Elsie Winifred's birth certificate would confirm.

I think someone was confused because the perdon they knew as Winifred, was actually regsitered as Elsie Winifred? ::)
