Hi,

I'm looking for background information on the property known as Burnrig in Prestonpans.  It was occupied around 1770 by Alexander Robert Ramsay and his wife, Catherine Hogg.  He died in 1787 aged 38.  Catherine married Martin Kilgour, a surgeon in Musselburgh in 1794 who seems to have taken over the management of Burnrig.

It is Alexander that I'm trying to learn more about, he and Catherine had a son, William, born between 1770 and 1773 but otherwise not mentioned.  Alexander and his parents + siblings were in Kelso until about 1767.  Any help with this family would be great.
