Please restore Group Settlement Photo WA
« on: Thursday 01 March 12 04:11 GMT (UK) »
This image was taken when my husband's family arrived [1923/4]in the south west corner of Western Australia to begin life as farmers.
The photo is small and appears to have been cut from a strip of photos somewhat like a strip of negatives.  I am hoping for a clearer image if possible, especially as this image appears to be badly scratched?
When given the pic by my mother in law (she is the young girl standing RH side of group) she mentioned that the tents they first lived in were in the background.  I think there is some kind of structure back LH side?
I will be grateful for any improvement that can be made to the quality of the image.  I also wonder what the image might look like in sepia?
Kind regards
patDEN

Thank you so much Carolyn ... just love it!  It is so much clearer and I am now thinking the tent might be middleground RH side?
Your time and the results much appreciated
Kind regards
Pat

Many thanks japeflakes ... I do appreciate your efforts.  I think the facial features of the group are so much sharper and distinct ... and the tidy up of the bush etc is certainly pleasing to the eye.
Kind regards
Pat

Simply superb, Bill.  The clarity is amazing.  I think I can discern 2 tents now.  Cannot thank you enough for your time ... much appreciated.

Regards
Pat

Hi Pat, I think there is some kind of structure on the left of the photo and two tents on the right, the closer I look at it I think that there is water to the left of the group.

I think you are right, Bill... I enlarged the pic and can see what you mean.  I hadn't even thought of a water supply... and of course, they would need that - if only to keep those whites looking so good!

Much appreciated
Pat
