Dating please and possible lightening nicoalanne
« on: Saturday 03 March 12 16:53 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Here are some photos of who I think may be my Great Great Grandparents. My Great grandparents were born 1886 and 1889, with my Great Grandma dying when she was 93.
They were taken at Speight, Nuneaton.

If anyone is able to lighten the photos up (for dating purposes) especially the lady then please feel free.

Many thanks

Nicola

Any help?
Edward Hall Speight's son, Clare Speight, was a well established photographer in Nuneaton from about 1893 until about 1926.

Don't think that fits your photos though

Thanks

Do you think that they may be older than that?
Perhaps his dad, as I see that he was a photographer?

Thanks again

Nicola

Hi Nicola :)

Very little to see of the lady's clothes, which would be a good dating tool, as the silvering out has obscured the details  :'(

Nevertheless, the mounts do look early 20th century, maybe around 1915-1920 or so.

Cheers
