Looks as if something had happened to James and Sarah before 1881, because Simon age 15, and a younger boy John age 9, were boarding with Nathaniel and Eleanor Evans at 4 Inkerman St, Llanelli.

Also Essex is listed as 12 year old son of William & Elizabeth Williams, at 54 Dumfries St, Ystradyfodwg, Glam

Back to searching for deaths with surname Williams!  ::)

(Searching for the Williams family to see if I can spot Sarah anywhere in 1901.  8) )

However, as Thomas and Margaretta married in Newport, what about this death from freebmd:

I thought the marriage was in Cardigan?

That's fantastic Morganllan I was looking at the wrong family for James Williams, are you confident this is the right family, where did you find the Census records.
Your effort in finding my family is much appreciated, are you from South Wales.
I don't know the parish's around llanelly very well as I live in Worcestershire.

Sorry about the confusion, I assumed (wrongly) that the marriage was in Newport, Pembrokeshire, rather than Cardiff or Llanelli (and definitely not Newport, Monmouthshire!)

Yes, I am confident that this is right family because Thomas was born Glyncoch, Llanegwad Parish. It's nearer to Carmarthen than Llanelli.

I realise that the question is about Elizabeth and Sarah but I hoped to find Sarah in 1901 with one of her Williams relatives. Unfortunately I haven't found any trace of her.  :(

Kind Regards
Morgan

I have tried to find Sarah on the Census records but hit a brick wall I think she must have died, when her Father re-married in 1896 she would have been about 6 so you think she would have been living with him.
I have sent for the death certificate for Elizabeth so we will see what that brings.
I am now looking for the birth of Thomas Williams which I am finding very difficult as it's such a common name in Wales,I wondered if you could find it for me.

Well, as we know that Thomas was born at Clyncoch/Glyncoch in Llanegwad Parish, 1863-4, at that time it should be a Llandilofawr registration in freebmd.

There are a possibilities, but I think that the one registered in June quarter of 1863 is the most likely (Llandilofawr 11a 666). If you order the certificate from Carmarthen register office, they don't need this reference, so specify parents names, address/parish, and year, and hopefully they should find the right certificate. They won't issue unless your criteria match, and they search 2 years either side.

You can see the birth index entry for Essex Williams at Llandilofawr in 1868.

Let us know how you get on!
