Virus protection
« on: Wednesday 07 March 12 20:30 GMT (UK) »
I don't know if I've done something silly.  :-[

My old desktop computer is hardly used and didn't have an up to date virus program so in a bit of a hurry I downloaded what I thought was the AVG free edition. It seems I've downloaded the trial version. I haven't entered any card details so they can't take any money from me but have I done something silly?

No, of course not.

But you need to uninstall the trial version before attempting to install the free one.

Ooh, thank goodness for that! I'll make sure I uninstall at the appropriate time.

Thanks for that, 'Hat!  ;D

What Roger forgot to mention:
The prefered method of removing AVG is to use the uninstaller rather than the 'remove program' within Windows.
If you search for 'uninstall avg', the full instructions are there to see.
