(COMPLETED))Could be a HARD one: Queenie MASTERS?
« on: Saturday 10 March 12 00:23 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I had an Aunt died in the late 1970's early 1980's. Her name was Queenie Hickey. Husband Jack?/John. Died 1950's.

I cannot find her birth her marriage or her death? But I can find a Queenie Masters who seems to have married several times. ???

There is some sort of tenuous connection on my mothers maternal side to the family MASTERS. :P

There are lots of Masters family but one was around the Canberra Monaro area and a "Caroline A G" was born Queanbeyan, 1887. We thought maybe the Queenie came from her birthplace as a nickname?

Anyone feel like a challenge? Sorry not much to go on is there. ::)

Hi Neil,

Which state (fingers crossed it is NSW) would likely hold the d.c. for Queenie?

Do you know the likely names for her children and if so, the likely surnames at their births? AND would these likely be registered in NSW ....  ;D  (adding, and likely years of birth too please ... guesstimates are Okay )

I have access to some NSW Electoral Rolls from those times, electorate and polling place by electorate and polling place  ::)  ;D so most of these are hardcopy, the 1913 ones are keyword searchable, ie the others are not  ::)

Is HICKEY or MASTERS her birth surname?

Any other likely surnames please  ;D

ADDING Perhaps you could send me a PM with any details for likely births post 1911 or unsure if we are looking for persons who may still be living....

Cheers,  JM

Hi, Well this lady is THE Family mystery, little is known of her early life, those that could have shed light have now passed away.

To my knowlege she had a Mystery daughter my Mothers cousin Marie. She Married to my knowlege A man by the name of Landon? I did say this was going to be hard.

Queenie would have been born before the turn of the 20th century, she always seemed like an old lady to me from my earlier days. Yes Majm all NSW to my lack of family bits.

Neil ???
