Now if I were the suspicious type, which I am not I might be ordering the transcript instead for the marriage in Glen Innes for Margaret Gallagher and a John Mac/McMaste?

COULD this be another BDM transcription error And it should read McMasters, normally shortened in this country to just.....Masters

Here is Marie's death notice.  It says her parents are Coral and John Hickey

Thanks Ros, I dont know about here name but some said it was because she didn't like her name that she went under Queenie? Her Grandaughter was named Coralie. Unfortunatly she died prematurely after the birth of several children, I knew her well. Many (if not all) of the others named in that notice are still alive so I wont persue those.

Destroyed "Home Companion" book that went through several generations of our family was ripped down to very little by both this Aunt and another to HIDE family secrets. More's the pity. In it is a faded referance to a John Masters. Who I think died in WW1.

I'm lost here, are we saying that Marie is Queenie Masters?

Queenie was usually used as a nickname referring to someone with the name of a queen, e.g. Elizabeth, Victoria, Marie Antoinette - maybe.

Queenie would be candidate for Mrs Landon's MUM !

NSW BM for 1970 dc for Marie Landon gives her age and place of death (52 Oatley) in lieu of her parents which suggests to me that the informant overlooked asking further within the family despite there being the info being known by the one placing the newpaper notice that Ros found showing Marie 's mum was still alive....
