Hi all, looking for anyone also researching Annie Butlin b 1862 Northants died 1950 Norwich, father Rowland Butlin b 1835/36 Kettering.  His father John Butlin b abt 1795 Rothwell, mother Ann Barlow b abt 1799 Rothwell.  They marr 03.04.1820 Rothwell.

Re Rowland Butlin in my previous message.  I have since found his wife's name was Mary b abt 1840 Rowell -would I be correct in assuming this is Rothwell mispelt as I am unable to locate it.  The IGI website has their children as John W b 1859, Agnes b 1864, Dorcas b 1867, Martha A b 1870 and Annie A b 1878.  This Annie has a different birth date to the one I have in 1862 [different person perhaps?].  I have also found another Dorcas [female by the way, unusual name so figure she must be part of the same family] b 1825 to a John and Ann Butlin.  Would love to hear from anyone searching for same.

Hi Julie
You are quite correct in thinking that Rowell and Rothwell are the same place.
Some local people still pronounce it as Rowell today

This may be your John (it was the only one I could find at Rothwell in the right period)

John son of Joseph & Ann Butlin bapt 30 December 1798 at Rothwell.

Not sure if could be related bu I have a Fanny Butlin married into my family in 1800's. Around 1860 I think?  I will check my files and come back with more details as I get them. We did chase down a little bit of her family tree.  Anyway, hope I can be of some help.
I too find it difficult to gather info on the family from Australia to England.

Hi Madpom  Have not come across a Fanny Butlin amongst the names I have so far.  Look forward to hearing from you with more info as she may well tie in somewhere.
