** COMPLETED ** Jacqueline Hirst, Crossland Moore: Huddersfield
« on: Saturday 10 March 12 18:48 GMT (UK) »
She was born and died on the same day in 1939, at Crossland Moore.  I have the Birth and Death confirmed through the indexes/certificates.  I am interested in finding the grave please if there is one.

Hi

Thank you for this but sadly this is not the correct person I am looking for.  This Jacqueline was born and died in December 1938. I also confirmed this is a different Jacqueline via the Births/death index.

I know for certain that my Jacqueline was born and died in June of 1939 and this is the one I am looking for.

But thank you for looking, really appreciated.

She was possibly buried in one of the larger general cemeteries.  There were very few church burials by 1939.

She could be in either Edgerton Cemetery or Lockwood Cemetery, but may have been buried in a common grave without a memorial stone.

the Local History Library has copies of the records for both Edgerton and Lockwood and will probably do a free half hour look-up for you so if you have the exact date of death you may get the information you are looking for.  You can email them with details - huddersfield.localhistory@kirklees.gov.uk.

good luck!

You can contact the Kirklees Cemetery service direct. They have a form on their website to complete and return if you are looking for a grave.

I've found the local cemetery service very helpful for my Reading ancestors, they were able to identify the grave numbers and give me a map of the cemetery. Hopefully Kirklees may be the same.

Mirf - I have a plan of Lockwood cemetery.  The consecrated section should have a letter, we'd be able to pinpoint where the grave was if we had that.
