Hello Sharon,

Is there an online site for Dorstone Baptisms?

I saw an Ester Sykes in Dorstone b. 1811 on teh 1841 census. Also, a Richard bonr about 1809. I wonder if they could possibly be siblings?

There is also a Henry & Esther baptising children in Peterchurch a few years earlier.

Marriage

Henry Sykes married Esther Gwynn on 14/05/1803, Peterchurch.

I saw the Peterchurch ones but not the other. I was able to find Richard (1809) & Ester (1811) and I remember (I thought) seeing a widow Ester living in Dorstone in 1841 w/a daugther about 40.

I scanned through the census records for clues.

Is Peterchurch near Dorstone?

So then it would be likely for parents to have been married in Peterchurch and then later, christen their children at Dorstone?

I am trying to better understand how things would have been 'done' back then in England/Wales.  ??? I am just getting into my research there and am more familiar with US records, places, terms, etc.
 :)
Thanks for your patience!
