Dalton wrote a book & he left a withness statement, you can find reports on Dalton & the trial about him shooting the boys on the Irish newspaper archive, there is also an article on him as a director in the sweep stakes & a nice picture of him in it too ! I am sure his headstone is pictured on the Micheal Collins site !

Two more posts? Well, perhaps I could try and post a picture here of Charlie, alongside his older brother, Emmet, taken around the time of Collins' death.

Here is the photo in question.

I should add that I grew up in the UK with little knowledge of those times, and Charlie died when I was very young.

Hi Dalty, I was trying to contact a member of your family a couple of years ago.My Late great uncle took part in the capture of the British Armoured Car that Charlie planned, They where also in the army around the same time, I have a copy of a letter here looking for the transfer of my great uncle by request of Col Dalton, they later worked in the Sweepstakes together, I had a couple of funeral notices that both men attended etc.
