Challenge! Annie Clara SQUELCH
« on: Monday 16 May 05 12:46 BST (UK) »
By popular demand (well 2 of you  on 'most uncommon name' thread) Ive been asked to set a challenge on the above name.  I found in amongst some old letters, a memorial card for Annie Clara Squelch, who died February 28th 1929 aged 63 years.  Interred at Handsworth Cemetery.  The only other information on the card is C. Harman & Son, Summer Lane, Aston Cross and Erdington.
I have no idea who this person was and the only other reference to the Squelch's was in a letter from my ggt uncle Tom Bradshaw where he mentions an Albert Squelch.

The challenge, I suppose, is WHO WAS SHE?

The only help I can give is that it came in a box of letters to the Bradshaws of Birmingham.  Is there a link????

and on and on and on.......

Albert is the son of a widowed Caroline Squelch in 1891.

And of course there are a passel of Ann* Smith's of the right age but there is a Clara Annie Smith.

Sarah Ann Smith Head Wid 47 Milk Shop Keeper bn Halifax York.
Clara Annie Smith Dau S 25 Machinist Warwick, Birmingham
Ada Florence Smith Dau 14 Warehouse girl Warwick, Birmingham

But it could be one of the other many Annie's as well?
