According to the 1881 census head of household  Elizabeth (widow)  was born in German in 1821.

I have a link from her daughter/granddaughter?, Elizabeth Ann born German 1871 (my great grandmother) but I need to trace earlier family members.

The reason I am not sure about the daughter/grandaughter relationship is the 50 year age difference between Elizabeth and Elizabeth Ann.
also in 1881 Elizabeth has a son William (widower) born 1846 living in the household who would be old enough to be the father of Elizabeth Ann.

Have linked these two together posts together to avoid duplication.  :)

On the newspaper article I mentioned it shows that Elizabeth (widow in 1881) was married to Robert Quirk and who passed away in 1872. The article has statements from his sons and wife.

Between 1861 and 1881 William born c1844 did not appear on the family census. When he returned on 1881 he was a widower. There is a likelyhood that the 3 youngest children:- Joseph, Elizabeth Ann and Robert were William's children.
I will have to look for them on the 1871 census, to see if they were a family, and hopefully find their mother.
Elizabeth Ann is the important one to establish a link for.

Hopefully this could be of help to you -   :)

William Quirk
event: Marriage
03 Jun 1869
German, Isle of Man
marital status: Single
father: Robert Quirk
spouse: Eleanor Kewish
spouse's marital status: Single
spouse's father: Patrick Kewish

Children of William Quirk and Eleanor Kewish -

Elizabeth Ann Quirk
19 Nov 1871
baptism - SAINT JOHN THE EVANGELIST,KIRK GERMAN,ISLE OF MAN,ENGLAND
father's name: William Quirk
mother's name: Eleanor Kewish
C03814

Robert Patrick Quirk gender: Male
 01 Feb 1874
baptism - SAINT JOHN THE EVANGELIST,KIRK GERMAN,ISLE OF MAN,ENGLAND
father's name: William Quirk
mother's name: Eleanor Kewish
C03814-1

Death of Eleanor Quirk -
QUIRK, Eleanor 28 German 9 Jan 1876

Therefore with the info above I feel sure that your Elizabeth Ann is the daughter of William Quirk and granddaughter of Elizabeth. The only sure way to prove this would be to purchase her marriage certificate.

Just a bit of extra info - In 1872 (when his father passed away) William was living in Ballacarnane Moar, Kirk Michael.
