whatever the Mormons state the IoM is not in England - one key difference is eg there are virtually NO birth certs before compulsory civil registration started in 1877 some 40 yrs later than UK - thus unles the parents were one of a very select band of strong non-conformists (Unitarians or Jews etc) all you will get from purchase of a 'birth' cert is a copy of the info in the baptismal reg plus of course a nice warm glow of having contributed your mite towards my taxes.
