Totally agree with everything you say. Want it to be Newton Street.
Had a look on Google maps. Have you looked?
I will try and find the picture of the school...

School, RC Church, Newton Street all showing on this 1910 OS Map

Partick Library has a small local history section - pop in and speak to the staff they have a great local knowledge and could maybe put you in touch with the local expert historians.

I am a Yoker Bankie! Our address was originally Yoker (Hamilton Street), but the council nicked it at the start of the 20th century.
I lived across the road from Holm Park and was a supporter when I was young.

Hey Bankie Boy have ya 'Dunaskin' yet, or did ya find Newton St?  ;)  I am looking for no 8 Newton St.,  Partick, as in the 1871 Scottish census, any new info?  ???
