Newspaper archive?
« on: Tuesday 13 March 12 21:38 GMT (UK) »
Hi
Dont know if anyone has access to Whitehaven local newspapers for the year 1954?  I have looked on the BNA but they dont have anything that recent.

I am looking for any mention of the death of John Thomas Miller whose body was found in Whitehaven harbour on 14th January 1954. It was never established what happened, he drowned due to concussion but they didnt find out why he had concussion in first place. Just wondered if it was mentioned in the local news at all.

Many thanks
Aileen

I'm going to the local library at the weekend.  I'll check the local newspapers for you and see what I can find.
