....
I have found a death for a Michael B O'Shea Mar 1907
est birth year 1845 age at death 62
Killarney vol 5 pg 206.
I'm wondering if this is him
....

...
I had a reply by email from the local parish church, they informed me they have no records for Michael B O'Shea
...

RC registers from this time rarely include details of death/burials - so it would be better to check the possible civil record you mentioned..

Thanks shane
If the parish church have no records of Michael B
it would suggest he died somewhere else...
The church have all the records for his children which they sent to me in 2007
So this death record is likely to be him,
as I still can't locate him anywhere in 1901 perhaps he did leave his family

not necessarily - RC registers from the 19th Century and early 20th often dont include death/burials, that's why I suggested the civil records.

What exactly was the answer from them .. and your question ?

a quick point about deaths - they were supposed to be registered in the district they took place, so Michael could have been still living in Caherciveen but visiting somewhere in the Killarney district when he died, but buried in his home parish.

If you check the RC records for Co. Kerry on the IrishGenealogy website you can see that there are no RC death/burials listed anywhere in Co. Kerry.

Hi Shane
I emailed the Daniel O'Connell Memorial Church (Holy Cross) directly from their website
I asked if they had birth or death records for Michael B O'shea, as I know he married in
St Finian''s Chapel caherciveen....here is the reply
Hi Bernadette,
Thank you for your email. Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We found no mention of Michael O'Shea in our records. I suggest you look up irishgenealogy.ie or the 1911 census. Hope you will have some success.
Kind Regards

In the 2007 letter they gave me the full names and d.o.b's for all 6 children, parents Michael O'shea and Margaret O'Reilly.....From the email it looks like Michael's birth or baptism isn't recorded at said church  :-[

I dont think they actually answer the question on the death...that could mean they found no baptism or marriage, but didn't look for death/burials since they dont keep records of them. Their records for the 1890s dont include any deaths..

As for the baptism.. as far as I remember your other O'Shea post the marriage and baptism was in parish of Dromod (Waterville), which is a separate parish south of Caherciveen.

have another look at the other thread - St Finian's Chapel is not in Caherciveen... i.e. the town or the parish

Hi Shane
St Finian's chapel is in a different parish !!
checking I've wrote this down correctly
St Fininan's chapel is in the parish of Dromod, and close to Waterville.
Michael's son worked for the Commercial Cable Company at Waterville
Which took him to US, Canada and the Azores.
I thought St Finian's was in caherciveen.....Doh me  :-[

correct!

If the marriage you have is a civil cert - then the Caherciveen reference is the registration district, which covers most of the north-west of the peninsula.. including the towns of both Caherciveen, and Waterville.
