Think War Diary your best bet....You can get in touch with Kew and ask how much for the month of April copied.

Good luck

His company was involved in an abortive attack on Sollum on that date, taking many casualties. He may have been part of that attack.

A number of book on the North African campaign mention the fighting around Sollum and Halfaya Pass around those dates.

Eac
Try posting a request on ww2talk.com - there is a lady on there who has a lot of stuff, including her own website, about the Guards Regiments/battalions. She has the user name 'dbf'. You will have to register but it's all free!

There is also a chap who often visits TNA @ Kew and can obtain the War Diary for you (does charge but not a lot!)

Regards

Andy
