The walking cane marks are almost certainly something to do with its manufacture, some kind of gold assay mark and the maker's mark probably, but without knowing where it came from it's hard to know where to look for references, as every country has its own marks.

The crest thingy on the brass picture frame looks like a maker's mark, the crown has initials inside it (I think) and the date "1837" below that which could be the foundation date of the company, or the date of the frame (more likely the former I'd think).

What is the last picture of?

That for the help on this and any information is greatly appreciated.

This is a marl on a picture frame. The second picture is of the side of the frame and I am including one of the shape of the frame.

The frame is solid brass and weight about 2.5 pounds.

The initials in the mark looks like UW and it is either 1837 or 1897???

You're right, it does say 1897.

Did you want to know something specific about the maker, or were you just hoping to work out what the crest was?

I was hoping to learn about the item but now I know it is actually from a factory in China:  Mark used by United Wilson Porcelain Factory

They produce reproductions :(

Thanks for the help on this one...
