Stourport
« on: Tuesday 20 March 12 14:31 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone
Hopefully this is a 'quickie'. My father was stationed in Stourport at some point during WW2. All he can remember is that the camp was north of the town and close to the River Severn.
The only reference that I can find to an army camp in Stourport is Burlish Camp, but all the references I have found refer to the American army and its function as a hospital base.
Were British troops stationed here during WW2?
I would be grateful for any help which anyone can give me/

Update. Burlish camp was built after my father was posted to Stourport, so this does not seem to be the location.
I now have my father's service record and he was posted to Stourport in April 1942 as a radio mechanic. If I have read his service record correctly he was with the 11th A.A. Div. Radio Maintenance Coy. R.A.O.C.
Does this help?
