Hi Dob7

Many many thanks.

I am so pleased, would never have found anything about Maria Crago, hadn't realised that was a middle name.  I was passed on that information unfortunately it was incorrect. Unusual name Wedlake. Can pick up the threads again after about 4 years.

A BIG THANK YOU.

You're welcome. Regarding WEDLAKE - I've seen it spelled WIDLAKE, WIDLOCK, WEDLOCK etc., so keep an open mind. I would even look at WESTLAKE. I did check Stoke Damerel baptisms for you and couldn't find her. A Marina WEDLAKE was baptised at Plymouth St Andrew 22 Oct 1809, dau of William & Jane, but that seems a little late for an 1823 marriage.

Many thanks noted your advice re Wedlake.
Marina close to Maria  birth date not far off but take your point about marriage date  make her only 14 would that have been possible around that time?

Delighted to have got on track again with Maria.

I think 14 was unlikely - there was no mention of the marriage being by special licence or with consent of parents. Of course, it could have been a late baptism, but usually that was noted if it was obvious that the child was more than a few months old.

Whilst you show Devonport as place of birth, Tamerton is not Devonport. There is a parish of Tamerton Foliot and an area probably nearer to Devonport called King's Tamerton [parish St Budeaux] so it may be worth checking the baptisms for either of those parishes as well?

Many thanks for that.

Reason for several places of birth... taken from census records, guessing perhaps, if she didn't know location.
