Family of George Gledhill & Sarah Fish
« on: Thursday 22 March 12 12:30 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for more info on the children of George Gledhill & Sarah Fish who married in 1827 at Cawthorne.
I have the names of their children & years of birth but am looking for any marriage records &/or death records. The info I already have is as follows:
Emma Gledhill born 1830, Cawthorne; Milly born 1832, Cawthorne; Ruth born 1836, Cawthorne; Caroline born 1837, Cawthorne; Annie born 1843, Barnsley; Joseph born 1840, Cawthorne; George born 1845, Silkstone; John born 1847, Silkstone; Edwin born 1850, Silkstone.  I also have Sarah Jane born 1854, Silkstone who married James Wilson & emigrated to Australia 1886.  Did any of her siblings also emigrate or was it just Sarah & her husband?
Blaxell (from Devon, Eng), Gledhill (from Eng), Grace (from Wiltshire Eng), Hoy (from County Antrim, Nthn Ireland),  Simon (from Nassau, Germany), Wilson (from Cambidge, Eng), Brown (from Oakham, Eng & later Scone, NSW), Newling (from Cambridgeshire, Eng & then Scone, NSW), Ball & Eatons from Worcestershire, Eng), Burris (from Wiltshire, ENg)

Thankyou for that info Suz & groom.  It is interesting that Joseph was a publican & married women that had fathers who were also inn keeprers.  His sister Sarah's father-in-law was also an innkeeper at the Miner's Rest Inn.

That is 4 Gledhills down, just Emma, Milly, Caroline, Annie, George & John to go, so if anyone can enlighten me about them that would be great.

Perhaps the two treads can be merged so that people are not repeating what has been found.

Thanks Groom for your info & for the advice.  I was not sure what to do with the 2 topics being posted.  Thought I had lost the original post so did it a 2nd time.  Next time I will double check before redoing.

Hope this will link both posts.  Link
