Hi colm

I still can't find any other connections for the leech's, I still only have Mary leech who married Patrick Corcoran, her dad was garret leech, however just now I have found his name could possibly be Geraldine leech
I found this

Name   JACOBUS LEECH                   CHRISTINA MULLIGAN
Address   1 MONKS LANE                   23 MAYOR ST
Occupation.    N/R                                       N/R
Father   GERALDI LEECH.           OWEN MULLIGAN
Mother   CATHERINE MITCHELL   SUSANNA BORTHY

Might be something useful

Thanks jordan

The name is not Geraldine- it's Geraldi, Latin form of Gerald.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

Hi Jordan
Not sure if you got my p.m. if not let me know and i will
send the details again. If you did could you send me details
of Mary and Patricks deaths and place of burial and any
marriage records for their children if possible. If there is
anything else i can help you with let me know.

Hi
Thanks everyone for all the help. I got side tracked as i usually do when researching my family.
Regarding Mary Leech and John Nicholson. I have since found out Mary was not my fathers
Aunt she was a cousin of his father originally from Meath or Westmeath, her father was a Garrett. She moved to North William Street Dublin to help her cousin. She is mentioned in the book Guns
and Chiffon as posted by Katecait. They were both still living in Dublin in 1933 as John signed
a legal document after my Great gran died. Thanks to findmypast and St.Patricks weekend
i think i found their marriage cert. in Surrey England. Since i was last on i have been told they
had no children, they tried adopting but it did not happen. They think she might have died in the 1950's. Hopefully one day i will find out about her service in the cumann na mban. Again
Thanks, Sorry for all the wrong information.

Hi Guys,

Just stumbled upon this thread when Searching Articles.
I am a Leech from Killucan, and the Barges you have referred to in the article (if they are the same ones) Belonged to my Great Granddad James Leech.
My own father has done a lot of work tracing the family tree from Killucan and Beyond, and I would be happy to answer any questions if I am able.

P.S. I realise this thread is a bit old but if it is still active and you still have questions, just pop me a message.

Cheers.

Hi SLEECH1985
I assume you are talking about James Leech the last Trader on the Royal. In which case
he is my Father's Uncle or is it his son James. You can't search the Royal online without getting
hits for Leech Barge's. I was recently thinking of writing to the local newspaper's in Westmeath and Meath to try and make contact with family members this saves me from having to. It's a pity i
didn't know sooner as we could have shared details. I met Jim Leech once a long time ago when i was starting my research, the resemblance between him and my own father was amazing. I have to say he made me very welcome. If you want we can share e-mails etc. you just need two more posts.
