There are no deaths on Freebmd between 1881 and 1891 that fit.

Could it just be that they couldn't find him on the 1891 so assumed he has died before the census? BEF = before.

I cant see a death that matches that in the indexes.

I would forget the tree you have seen and do your  own research!

Is this the family in 1891?

RG12 2434 48 1

40 PArk Lane, Aston

Thomas 43 labourer bn B'ham
ELiza 44 bn Tewkesbury
Arthur 16 bn Aston
John 13 bn B'ham
Thomas H 9 bn Aston
Selina 6 bn B'ham
William 4 bn Aston

maybe Peter is now called John ....

looking at 1881 (RG11 3002 24 42) the other children are there but there isnt a John. So i guess that is it.

I think you could be right there Liz. There is no John on the 1881 census, so I think John and Peter are the same person.

Sorry didn't see the last bit of your post.

Birth
Oct/Nov/Dec 1877
Birmingham 6d 157

John Minshull

Cant see any birth for a Peter.

So it looks as if he was really John and the 1881 is the error.

John Minshull, aged 23, dies in Aston in Jan/Feb/Mar 1901 - which might explain why I couldnt spot him on the 1901 census.

Hello all, thankyou so much for your interest i thought that the two might be the same person, and i could not find a birth for Peter so that may be the reason.I have been over and over the census for different years it has been a pain.I did not think that BEF meant before i have never seen it used silly me.regards tobyma123. ;D
