I'm not sure if this is the right place but as a group of local amatuer history ladies and gents, we are transcribing as part of a project the Census Returns, Electoral Roll of 1897 to carry out research into the industrialisation of Cliffe through past lives. If you want to check a name we can do 1831, 1841, 1861 and 1897. The project is the Cliffe History Project and a website under construction will be

Thank you as I saw an ancient enquiry we knew the answer to, but also know the census not to be published on our website so trying to get message out that we don't mind looking if someone gets in touch.

Looks like Cliffe are "doing up their website" have spotted a Register of Electors for 1897.

Update June 2014

Website address has changed it now looks to be  http://cliffehistory.co.uk Cliffe-at-Hoo Historical Society

Following recent changes in the society the new website for the official constituted Cliffe at Hoo Historical Society is www.cahhs.org.uk please feel free to look around as we are adding new content all the time and have some exciting projects in the pipeline for 2016  :)
