Maidstone Journal
« on: Tuesday 27 March 12 04:17 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I have found a reference to an ancestor in an Index of the Maidstone Journal, does anyone know if there are copies of this online or how I would go about obtaining a copy of the information ? I am based in Australia.

The reference is "Isaac Pearson 1st Jan 1833 pg 1  blacksmith of maidstone "

Thanks

The Maidstone Journal should be available on microfilm at the new Kent History and Library Centre which opens on 23rd April.  The old Archives and library are closed at the moment to allow for preparations for the move.

Thanks Bearkat.

I tried sending an email to the Tonbridge library and have come up trumps.

A huge shoutout to Sue from the Tonbridge City Library who found the article for me, scanned and emailed. Is massively appreciated. Thank you !! ;D

It turns out it is Isaac's retirement notice giving his Blacksmith business to his son Jonathan Henry !!!

A sensational snippet of family history !!!

cheers

Well done Tonbridge Library

It just goes to show what you can find out by asking.
