If only that grass wasn't growing just in front of the grave!

I think the cemetery is St Leonard's Churchyard, Heston. The building in the background is the Rose & Crown at 220 Heston Rd.

Well done Adrian- certainly looks correct.

Isn't it amazing how we manage to recognise places by the pubs  ;D ;D ;D

If you do find the grave ,please tell us what it DOES say on the left of it!

I most certainly will. Are we placing bets ?  ;)

Am a little puzzled why Grandfather would be buried in a Church of England Churchyard.
He was an Irish Catholic and quite devout too, as was the whole family, including his son who would of arrange the funeral and burial place.
Although, my Dad has always thought it was odd that neither the headstone inscription or the cemetery surroundings indicated 'being a Catholic'

Does anyone know if Catholics being buried in C of E churchyards was quite 'common' around the 1950's ?

However, my photo and the 'online' photo are most definately alike....... !

Will let you know what St Leonard's say tomorrow.

Cheers folks.

Just to let you know, St Leonard's took required details and will get back to me on Monday to confirm (or not) that my Grandad's grave is there.

Cheers folks !
