Maybe she actually died in Bristol?
She might have been in hospital there?

There's an Ellen Nora Banville death in 1997, Bristol?

The only Banfield deaths in the Cirencester district are:
Benfield, Freda Dorothy (1997)
Bampfield, Arthur James (1995)
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

This birth would support her being a spinster when she died - providing her surname was Banville and not Banfield as stated

I am soon to find out more this coming week but shall let you know.  I was told she was born in Somerset and died in Somerford Keynes. The reason I knew of her is she was listed in my great grandfathers will and it was thought she may have been the partner of my Great Grandfather but she isn't  :( but there was a strong connection between them I believe. Not sure if I should research her if I am not sure we are related.

Hi

If by researching her it helps to solve the mystery of Claude's second wife - it will be worth it

banvilles and similar aren't easy to find in the west country. there is a James Page Banville (b Norfolk) marring an Alice in  Yeovil in 1905 and  Frederick b Bridgwater in 1906. The latter dies in Rochford district, Herts in Q2 1911 and both James and Alice appear to die in Hitchin, Herts in 1962 and 1949 respectively
