Artilery & Black Watch

  Hi all, i'm trying to learn about an uncle of mine who died 1954, i was a bit to young at the time to remember any thing about him, i was told he served in the Artilery then the Black Watch, iv'e got no service number to go on but was hoping some one out there could help with what little i do have on my uncle.
His details: Mark Tippey born December 1916 Stockton on Tees, Co Durham.
Married Florence Robinson June 1939.
Died aged 37 1954.

Would it be possible on this information to find out if he served with Artilery & Black Watch, big ask i know.
