Jacobs Sandwich burial look up please
« on: Wednesday 04 April 12 10:40 BST (UK) »
Hi

I was wondering if anyone can help me? I am researching the Jacobs family from sandwich and am trying to ascertain where they may be buried. I am particularly looking for the following:
William Jacobs - died 1882 (living at the Old Vicarage, Sandwich)
Edward Jacobs - died 1908 (living at the Old Vicarage, Sandwich)
Katherine Mary Jacobs - died 1895 10 months old.
I actaully have a photo taken in the 1920's of the last burial I've mentioned and it has been labelled as 'Ash cemetery' - does such a place exist?

Many Thanks

If you google Ash Cemetery Sandwich Kent it comes up with the village of Ash 3 miles hence.  It says nearby is an ancient Saxon cemetery so don't know how recent burials would be there.
Something to start with anyway  :)

Thank you very much for that. I am of the understanding that the Jacobs family lived in Sandwich for a number of years so a visit to the archive would probably be worthwhile.

Have you tried Googling "Ash next Sandwich" - there is a St Nicholas Church there with churchyard burials (if you Google images there are photos).  Try www.kentarchaelogy.org.uk
