Seeking help re Kate Ward

I am trying to find the birth of Kate Ward. She was married in 1875 to Arthur Davis at Lambeth Surry. The marriage registration shows her as 21 with a father of Charles.

I have found two Kate Wards, with father Charles, born about the right time one in 1857 and the other in 1855. Both of them were born in Warwick. Is this a possibility, with the marriage in Surry?

Father given as Charles,bricklayer.
1871:RG10/3195/109/7
Same family
Birth:
Catherine Ward/Ch.4/3/1855/Parents:Charles & Catherine/Occ: bricklayer/Add: Lansdown St. Leamington.
Looks like your girl.
Found this Marriage:
3/1/1853 Stoneleigh Warks.

Hi 
You need to find Kate aged 15 in 1871 census with father Charles.
She may be away as a servant so perhaps look at 1861.
Have you found her birth in freembd?

you can rule out the above Catherine as she married Richard Skelcher in 1877.
Why do you think she came from Warks?

Thank you both for your information, which I will look at and see just how it fits.

The reason I am asking about Warks is that when I checked on Family Search, with a father of Charles, as per the marriage certificate, the only two Kates were shown as from Warks

The first post by jim1 looks to be highly possible, as a bricklayer, as the marriage cert shows him as a builder!

tina, when I started looking at FreeBDM, I was swamped by the sheer number of Kate Wards that I thought that asking for help here would make it a lot easier to try to find her, as I know just how brilliant Rootschatters are at finding information which is obscure and difficult for one person to find on their own.  Having other people look at the same info from a different perspective helps greatly.

jim, your second post, is that reference to the Catherine in your first post?

Yes,the Catherine from Leamington married someone else.Her marriage entry shows her father as Charles a bricklayer.
This is the only Kate/Catherine with father Charles that I can find anywhere.
She may have been known under another name in early life or she may be illegitimate & made up her father's name.

I will have to have a good look at the census returns. I have a funny feeling that although the marriage certificate states that they both were 21, I do have Arthurs birth registration as Dec Qtr 1858, which makes him 17 at marriage. As the marriage was 8 Feb 1875, and the first child was born 19 Apr 1875 , there is every possibility that she was not 21

Just how to find her will be an interesting search.

Again, thanks for the help. As I have said in other posts, negative information is useful, as it eliminates certain false trails.

I'm always suspicious when I see 21 for an age on marriage certs. & I think you're right to be sceptical.
