William Frederick Cox b 1827 India, died Berkshire, parents Thomas Cox and Elizabeth Anderson...

Might be worth looking into this  :)

William H Daniel (or Daniels) was Irish born magistrate + landed proprietor - living at 31 Derby Square Douglas in 1861 - I think in 1857 he had rented Derby Castle (later turned into a dancehall - see www.manxnotebook.com under Douglas) and in 1863 possibly at Oakhill (also see manxnotebook) - all his children were Irish born - not on Island in 1851 - no burial on Island and family appears to have removed by 1871
Suspect groom had no connection with IoM
any thing with a Manx Connection

Thank you for this info.

Thoughts are that ...Thomas Cox died Rushen I.O.M and this brought his son, William F Cox to I.O.M.
where WF met and married Anna Maria.

Is there a burial for Thomas Cox plz ?

yes bur Malew 18511126 age 69 - in 1851 at Westham House lt Col East India service- dau Elizth had married Francis Grantham she + 2 ch are there
he is on Island in 1841 (mis indexed as Case) at Crecent with dau + sons - the 1837 directory gives him at Bayview Crescent [Onchan but actually now North Douglas abt 200 yrds from Derby Castle!
he appears as a recommender for Mr Forrester's Crescent Academy in 1841 so guess his boys went there

wife + children born East India - Westham house is just outside Castletown (would now be part of town) - there is a very brief description on my site
