Llanllyfni Parish Registers

Would like to find date of death for my gt.gt.gt.grandparents, who were both born, married and died in Llanllyfni, Caernarvonshire.

Robert Parry b.c. 1786, and his wife Ann b.c. 1786, nee Thomas.
Married  14th October 1809, Llanllyfni.

Have found both on 1851 census, only Robert on 1861, so Ann died between 1851 and 1861.   

Can't find Robert on 1871, so assume he died between 1861 and 1871.

They address was Ty'n llan, Llanllyfni.

The 1851 shows them living in the Carnarvon Registration district

Unfortunately there are a great many Ann Parry deaths on free bmd between 1851-61 in that RD and no ages are shown so it is difficult to determine the right entry

There is a possible for Robert in 1867 but again - no ages shown on other entries between 1861-1866

Also a Robert Parry, Village, aged 67, buried 14/07/1855
and
Robert Parry, Tyddyn Rhedyw, aged 80, buried 12/01/1865.

I am aware that your request was placed on the message board many years ago, and I am sure that you have by today been able to find more information on the Parry family of Ty’n Llan, Llanllyfni.

I am currently in the process of carrying out some research on this family for a group of distant relatives and descendants in the USA. Robert Parry and Ann Roberts had a daughter Ellen (Ellin or Ellenor) 1824-1899, Ellen married John Hughes 1823-1892 at Llanllyfni in 1847 and the family ended up in Randolph, Wisconsin, USA.

A son of Ellen and John; Henry John Hughes 1866-1942 married Ellen “Nell” Morris 1869-1942.

Ellen Morris was a descendant of my gt.gt grandparents John Prichard and Ann Dafydd of Bryndeddau, Llanystumdwy.

I would be interested in any information you have on the Parry family of Ty’n Llan, Llanllyfni.

Re Robert & Ann  Parry nee Thomas; you say her maiden name was Roberts, typo or different couple?  My Robert and Ann had five children that I am aware of - Henry 1809/ Catherine 1813/ Thomas 1815/ Robert 1818/ Daniel 1827, not found an Elinor/Ellen so far. mmm wonder if I have made an error with the baptisms I found?
Do you have details of any of Ellen/Elinor's siblings?

On the 1841 Census at Ty'n Llan, Llanllyfni we have Robert Parry Aged 55, Anne Aged 55, Henry Aged 20, Ellin Aged 15 and Daniel Aged 14; on this census adult ages were rounded off to the nearest 5.

Elinor Parry daughter of Robert Parry and Anne Parry nee Roberts was baptised at Salem Chapel, Llanllyfni on 14 November 1824, she was born 3 November 1824. It is off this record that I have Anne the mother as Roberts before she got married.

Ellin married John Hughes on August 7 1847 at St. Rhedyw, Llanllyfni. Her father is recorded as Robert Parry, Quarry Agent.

The children that I have recorded for Robert and Ann are Catherine 1813, Ann 1815, Henry 1821, Robert 1821, Ellen 1824, and Daniel 1827.

It was Daniel Parry then living at Ty'n Llan, that was the Executor to his father's Will, which was proven at Bangor on 3 July 1865; Robert had died on 7 January 1865.

Are you a descendant of one of these children?

I now need to reread all  my info  on this Parry family, in order to recheck my sources etc., as I am now having doubts as to the parents of my gt.gt. grandmother Catherine Parry 1813 who married Ellis William Williams in Llanllyfni, 30th December 1836.
