Ann Inger
« on: Sunday 08 April 12 20:25 BST (UK) »
Does anybody have any information about the parents of Ann Inger born c 1797-1800 in Heanor (Derbyshire) according to various census although her wider family appear to have originated from Nottinghamshire.   Ann married George Wilson of Greasley.
I would love to find out more about this family.
Angela

Hi Angela, I've found an Ann Inger from Heanor marrying a John Clark in 1821 in Heanor and another marrying Thomas Whiteman in Heanor on 04 Apr 1836.
Do you have a marriage certificate details from parish records etc for the wedding to George Wilson? George Wilson is married to an Ann, but can't find a maiden name for sure.

Hi Angela, Hi Skewy.....  :)

Pleased you mentioned the Heanor marriages Skewy; I did a bit of searching yesterday but had to leave off..... I had found this marriage and if I get time this week was going to look to see if it gave any other clues..... but a good start as Selston is where they are in 1841 and seems where at least some of the children were born.

Marriage at Selston St Helen - 7th February 1833
GEORGE WILSON & ANN CLARK

Sheila.

Hello again

I do not have a marriage certificate but I have George and Ann on all the censuses and their last three children were registered after 1837 and I have the birth certificate for their son John (1843) which gives Ann`s maiden name as Inger and she cant have been a widow when she married George as she would have been too young to have had a previous marriage before the birth of her first child.   As there only appears to have been one Inger family in Heanor with the rest in Nottingham I have therefore come to the conclusion that they must have been siblings although that may be wrong and they may have been cousins

Hello Angela....

I did get chance to take a look at the George Wilson to Ann Clark marriage but unfortunately it doesn't help much to prove Ann was formerly an Inger.

I am not sure what you mean re this comment.....
Quote
Ann`s maiden name as Inger and she cant have been a widow when she married George as she would have been too young to have had a previous marriage before the birth of her first child.

If she did marry John Clark in Heanor in 1821 and then John dies.... there is a Burial at Heanor St Lawrence - John CLARKE, aged 33 yrs - 13th Dec 1829 then it is possible for her to remarry in 1833.

This looks a likely the scenario to me......

Marriage at Greasley - 10th November 1823 - by Banns
GEORGE WILSON, of this parish
& HANNAH MORRIS of the parish of Bulwell
Both signed their mark X
Witnesses = William Wilson X & Elizabeth Morris
~ ~ ~ ~

Children born at Greasley parents George & Hannah
JOHN - 9th May 1824
JANE - 5th March 1826
THOMAS - 6th April 1828
MATTHEW - 19th Sept 1830
~ ~ ~ ~

Hannah dies...

Burial at Greasley
HANNAH WILSON - abode Brinsley - 25th June 1831, aged 29 years.
~ ~ ~

George remarries....

Marriage at Greasley - 2nd July 1833
GEORGE WILSON of the parish of Greasley
& ANN CLARK of this parish were married by Banns
Both signed their mark X
Witnesses = Frank Varley & Fanny? Wilson
~ ~ ~

I didn't have time for anything else and the only baptism I spotted for any of George and Ann's children was this one.

Baptism at Selston
Mary Ann Wilson - 9th March 1838, daughter of George & Ann, abode Cordy Lane, occupation Collier.

I also see there are a couple of online trees that have George's baptism date correct but the wrong parents and siblings,....

Baptisms - GREASLEY St Mary, Nottinghamshire - parents JOHN & Elizabeth WILSON
Thomas - 16th Oct 1796
William    - 12th Oct 1800
George - 26th June 1803
Richard - 19th Feb 1804
Abeil - 12th April 1807

I can let you have a Wilson, Pinxton marriage and a few Pinxton burial dates if you need them?
