MORLAND Thomas Born 1860 Stranraer

Hi team,
I have been able to make some decent progress on My Morland family from Stranraer through the 1800`s but this one has me a little puzzled at present.
Thomas Morland B 1860 was the brother of David, James & Elizabeth, also there was one other brother named John who died young.
Now Thomas Father was a William Morland B 1827 who married Jane McCulloch B 1828.
I note that Thomas married a Jane Auld in Stranraer in 6th Oct 1885
Jane Aulds parents were Robert and Isabella Auld

Now info that I have picked up from the 1891 census has Thomas and Jane living in Stranraer No 11 High Street.
Now they were married in 1885 and in the 1891 census  Robert was living with them aged 9. I presume a son As the age is 9 it suggests a few possible sinarios as Thomas was not married to Jane when Robert was born.......
To add to the puzzle in the 1901 census where Robert would be about 19, he is not listed in this census as living with Thomas and Jane.

I am struggling to find any other info.
Anybody able to point to some further clues on this ? I will be very grateful

Scotlands People is showing a birth registration for a Robert Auld, 1881, Stranraer. This may well be him - no Robert Morlands.

22 August 1881.  Mother - Jane Auld. No father mentioned.

I think it would be worth getting your father to download the certificate as this might be a submitted entry.

Thanks again for the leads gnu. We have managed to get a birth registration for Robert Auld and a death registration for Thomas Morland.
Robert definately the son of Jane Auld but father not listed.
We are trying to find Robert Auld now and to where he has disapeared to? Help anyone?
Was he the son of Thomas Morland? Could he have changed his name ? was that possible in those days?We may never know this one but if anyone is able to find a clue to this one will be grateful again?

We cannot see any children listed for Thomas Morland and Jane Auld

Thomas died in Stranraer in 1924  aged 64 living at 27 harbour street.

Hi Scott

I assume you mean Robert Morland rather than Robert Muir?  I think that he and Robert Auld werethe same person. Have you checked for death certificates for him under both names/did he emigrate/etc.?

I don't see any suitable deaths for him in Scotland  under Morland or Auld so far
