wills (how do i get a copy?)
« on: Thursday 12 April 12 17:06 BST (UK) »
I've been stumped on one person in my tree for ages, thought he'd died in the 1870s then had a breakthrough. He changed his surname from Hulme to Holmes, took 10 years off his age, married for a second time well away from where he had lived, moved again and lived out the rest of his life in Runcorn with his wife and 3 children from that marriage, truely a eureka moment when i found all that.
Now I've found that he made a will, i know nothing about how to obtain a copy though.
Could someone please give me an idea of to go about getting one?
the info I have is
Name          Luke Holmes.
Location      Runcorn, Cheshire.
Occupation  auctioneer.
Year           1907

Other info relates to his real life as Luke Hulme but I don't know if that is relevent.
any help will be much appreciated
griff

You need to apply to the Court Service by post - cost £6 for search and will - details and links to download the form are on this link:
